Vipers 10 - Round 10

Looke denies Wenham the clean sweep

Paul Looke took a break from his B.A.R. preparation to squeeze in a freshener at round 10 of the Vipers series. The endurance work translated beautifully to the shorter distance as Paul came within 6 seconds of his course PB to win the handicap competition. That was the only thing that stood between Andrew Wenham and a clean sweep of Open TT, Vets, and Handicap wins building on last week’s fastest overall performance with an even quicker 22:19.

Sarah Wenham rounded out the handicap podium along with the Female Road Bike win. Phil Hodey tasted success with two podiums and Gary Jackson rode a stormer for second place on Vets.

Fred Barlow returned to winning ways in the Open Road Bike while brother Will sealed the Junior title with half the series left and must now concentrate on the handicap season long race.

Bob Pisolkar took second Open Road Bike which saw a podium too for Martin ‘Omnirocker’ Cooper who exchanged the camera for bike with great success.

The halfway point in the series sees some very tight competition too close to call. In the handicap Lochlan Dyer is averaging 45.75 to Issy Beale’s 45.71, and Ade Adeyemi’s 45.5. Game on.
